How to Restart in Style

ere, compiled for your interest is a number of ways to Restart

A lot of these 'tips' are not amazing good for your computer. Infact, they are rather bad for it. Infact, to be quite blunt, they are downright awful for it and also the integrity of your data. I claim no responsibility for data lost due to this. However, none of these are any worse for the computer than a power cut would be. Just make sure that if you're paranoid, you've backed it all up before proceeding. I've tried all of these without problems.

  1. estart using a quick-key from ResEdit defined to the Restart in the Finder Menu
  2. old down the [Apple], [Ctrl], and [Boot] keys simultaneously (Good for in a "Freeze" situation, but it doesn't work on all Macs.)
  3. et Hold of Terminator Strip for the desktop strip and use that at the touch of a button.
  4. djust the Power lead to the CPU so it is very loose, then simply give the CPU the 'Magic' tap for a slight jolt. Hey Presto! Instant restart and a great way to impress people (as long as they don't know what you did)
  5. rash a program like Doom or Marathon on Hi-Res mode and by making a bad map/object for them, restart by one of the methods above and you get your viewing screen pasted over the bootup screen. Sometimes until after the extensions have loaded.
